Diners rave about the freshness of the fish, particularly the crispy battered cod that consistently receives high praise. The generous portion sizes leave customers feeling satisfied and happy. Many appreciate the clean and tidy dining space, which pairs beautifully with the panoramic beach views, creating an inviting atmosphere.

The service at The Cod End Fish & Chips stands out; staff are known for their friendliness and attentiveness, ensuring that every visit feels special. A well-stocked menu covers various options, from traditional fish and chips to creative specials like the seafood basket and the pinwheel burger. Families appreciate the kids' menu, which offers a variety of tasty, healthy options for younger diners.

Most Disliked

Some diners express concerns about wait times during peak hours, particularly on weekends and holidays when the restaurant is bustling with activity. It can be especially busy on Sundays around 6 PM, so arriving earlier or later may enhance the dining experience.

While most food is enjoyed, a few customers note that the chips can be slightly overcooked for their preferences, though this varies from visit to visit. Additionally, for those who prefer a quieter environment, the casual setting may lead to a more vibrant and energetic dining experience, which could be a turn-off on particularly crowded days.

I’m not usually a massive fan of fish and chips but decided to give this place a try based on reviews from Google and TripAdvisor. I have to say, it was very good. We had the fish special which was a medium sized battered cod, chips and curry sauce, priced at £11.50 (dining in). The fish was fresh and the batter crispy, very well cooked. The chips were slightly over-cooked (not a big issue, personal preference) and the curry sauce was thick and had taste and flavour unlike some places. The dining in experience all gives you excellent views of the beach and the service from the waitress was excellent. All in all, very pleased. Would recommend.

Fabulous fish and chips to take away or sit inside which we did. The medium cod special was large and delicious. Fresh white cod in a light crispy batter and lovely big chips. Lots of curry sauce and mushy peas too and a nice hot cup of tea

We came in on Friday evening just expecting a takeaway chippy but the view was sensational watchign the sunset, the dine-in area was very clean and the staff were absolutely lovely and ensured we had everything we needed. The portion sizes were immense, I had scampi, chips and salad, my partner had the pinwheel burger and we split a bowl of calamari. This was incredibly fresh fish, served up hot and crispy, we struggled to finish it all and the staff were so polite as we left. I cannot recommend here enough, the staff are caring, the food is brilliant and the view is one like no other!

I called in at The Cod End to sample their fish and chips, and I was not disappointed. I had the Cod, Chips and Peas special with a lovely glass of wine. The batter on the Cod was crispy, the fish just flaked apart, the chips were lovely and the peas were lush. Great service and a beautiful view. Highly recommended.

Food did take a few minutes but was mostly worth the wait and price. Fried Chicken burger was a lil dry and could have been better then the Tesco Southern Fried Chicken pieces they used. But the chips were great and so was the other meals we ordered . Burgers are large Chips are a good portion size Kebab meat was fresh and tasty .

The view is fantastic, and the establishment has a welcoming atmosphere with friendly service. The cleanliness and tidiness of the place are commendable. Additionally, it's great to see that it's dog-friendly, allowing pets inside as well. These factors contribute to a pleasant experience overall.
